Allowing other people to update a site you created

If I were to build a site using a CMS like Volt or Wordpress, obviously a benefit would be people being able to edit and add content.

How do you deal with people adding large image files as they’ll (in most cases) neither know nor care about optimisation for the web.

Just curious as to how others deal with this.

That old problem eh?
Yes, I’ve encountered that a few times. I explain that images don’t have to be high-resolution, then hand it over to them—if they encounter problems, then it’s their fault, as I’ve explained it as well as I can to them.

With the option that they can always ask me to optimise if they want to.

In Volt CMS, you have an option that images are resized during upload.
