Asset Manager PROBLEM

@norm Some problem with the asset manager, it has happened twice, so now i know whats the problem is, but i can’t do fix it. That cause the problem IS THAT, If you change folder of your images then you are notified to refresh the images, after that all is fine, But the images get really Big in the asset manager, and you have no possibility to erase the image, even if I choose SELECT and so on, I think you have some string in this Beta that Not playing so well, check the image<img

@Norm i, I am facing another problem with the Asset manager (2.5.b3).

I created a new folder in the Asset Manager called “pixels”, and added the image “transparantpx.gif”. Then I saw a problem, because I didn’t used a capital at the first letter, so renamed it to “Pixels”. I tried to delete the image transparantpx.gif, but I can’t. Then saw the name folder pixels two times in the Asset Manager. One with and one without capital. I tried to delete “pixels” but I can’t. After I tried, I can’t go back neither to view ALL. Need to close Blocs and reopen. Then I can reach all images, but still can’t delete “pixels”.

This is how I use Asset Manager.
I created a folder on my MAC for the website with separate folders for the different images/video’s

@Norm And another problem with the Asset Manager in Beta 2.5.b3.
How to remove “op25_FF0000.png” from the Asset Manager?

Do I see it to simple, but the Asset Manager needs to be something like Finder (macOS)? Why not point to a folder at first (for instance “Images” and import all folders and files under it. Would be much easier I guess. (see how I use the Asset Manager in the previous forum post). Same you can do for Videos (if they aren’t under the folder “Images” already).

Can’t you just right click and delete the asset? I’ve temporarily gone back to 2.4.5, because 2.5b3 is causing me a few too many problems. Hopefully b4 puts them right.

Because when you move to another machine the structure of the assets within finder may be f=different. This way Blocs keeps a reference to structure in the actual file rather than mirroring whats in finder.

Try a restarting Blocs. There appears to be a bug with adding assets that causes them to not render correctly. Do you recall how you added the asset when this happened?

Hi @Norm, No sorry. I don’t know how I added them. Probably the “newbie user” way. At my point that Asset Manager seems not doing the things I want it to do. (I wrote you about that before in a direct email). If I add images/video’s to a specific folder in the Asset Manager, they don’t show up in that specific folder, only when I choose “All”.

Then it would be great, when I saved a project and change machine, all assets were included. I need all assets at the other machine as well :wink:. If they are stored on a NAS or something like that, and I would change machines in the same network, the reference would be the same, so only the Blocs project file will do to safe space.

If I store/save a website project, I would like to have one file with all assets I used in it. So when I open a project a few months later, I know for sure all is there.

Yes build 4 includes this fix already, its just not available yet.

Then it would be great, when I saved a project and change machine, all assets were included. I need all assets at the other machine as well :wink:. This may happen at some point but Blocs project file sizes would be big, potentially gigs depending on the size of assets used. Not moving that around on dropbox or iCloud is going to take a long time.

Build 4 of the beta version should be ready soon, give that a try it may work a little better.

Im still not able to replicate this issue. Did you create another group and merge them is that what you mean by refresh?

@Norm I am too busy lately, so I didn’t use Blocsapp. I installed beta 5 and when I have time left, I will continue with my website experiences. If this problem still persists, I will inform you.
