When adding brics it would be helpful if the bric categories were presented as an accordian, with the last chosen category remaining open when the next bric is added. Would save a lot of scrolling.

You’re on to something, but actually FILTERS are what’s missing. Just below the search you’d have a couple rows of clickable labels for the categories. The results would simply scroll to that section ala anchors.
That’s better UX than accordions because the “everything” view does have a usefulness and purpose.
looking at it again, a tabbed interface would work well - there aren’t that many category options and they wouldn’t take up much real-estate.

Yup, and you’re spot on that there’s room for improvement in this area. I’m guessing Norm has that on his list already.
