Would it be possible to merge these two windows so as you select the class on the left panel the settings are shown in a panel on the right. Currently there is so much clicking back and forth.

If I understand you correctly, you can click on the icon next to the class in the Class manager or double clicking on the Class in the Class Manager will open/change the Class editor to the select Class.
Or are you asking for it to be all in the same window?
Yes I would prefer a single combined window.
