iPadOS and the M1 iPad

I recently switched to Blocs and absolutely love it. It has become one of the most used applications on my Mac. It’s brilliant.

I’m really hoping Blocs will come to the iPad Pro with M1. As I understand it, porting it should be relatively easy. Please make it available on macOS and I’ll be able to fully replace my MacBook Pro with the iPad Pro for “on the go” builds. I would, as suspect many fellow users would as well, gladly pay for another license.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

I doubt that.

Why? The architecture now is virtually the same. Isn’t Blocs already an universal app?

Blocs is a universal app, but that means it runs on both intel and Apple silicon Macs.

iPadOS is very different from MacOS so it’s not as simple as it may appear to port an app like Blocs.

Maybe one day :grinning:

For example all kind of file handling might be different.

Only because you have an universal app, which is compiled on ARM and Intel, you don’t get automatically the possibility to run on iPadOS.

Hopefully soon.
