When I mark some text and set a span tag, I can no longer edit the text. I have to first delete the span tag. Frustrating …
What Ive found is that if you double click somewhere in the text (outside of the span) you can move the cursor along the text and then backspace over the text inside the span.
Result.

It shouldn’t be necessary though.
@pumpkin Well, you may prefer to do the changes in “Edit in Writer Mode”. Just right-click anywhere in the text and select Edit in Writer Mode from the context menu. This will open the text in an editor window, allowing you to select text inside or outside the span. When your done editing, close the edit window and your changes will be made. If you edited the text inside a span, the span will still be there with your edits included.

Ah thanks for reminding me of that one. Never used writer mode so far.
