No top left menu or bottom bric menu

Hi

Im using Blocs 2.3.1 on a Mac laptop OS Sierra. i cannot see, find or activate top left menu or bottom bric menus? ive seen them on video tutorials, but unable to find any discussions about it.

may i ask how do you get the brics menu up?

Press the ‘D’ key should add the details at the bottom of the screen for the brics
