Redirect old Google Link

has anyone a solution for this problem. I tried a htaccess file but doesn’t work.
There is a old link in google and I want to redirect it.
The old link is:

and the new one

A https redirection is set by the provider - so I don’t understand the problem. Only thing I see is that the old one have www and the new one not ?!

thanks for the help

Try adding this to your htaccess:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.(.*)
RewriteRule ^.*$ https://%1/$1 [R=301,L]

RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule (.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [R,L]

Also worth making sure you have cleared your browser cache.

Hi @Flashman

thanks for your help. Cache is cleared …htaccess file uploaded. but it doesnt work

That htaccess should definitely send everything to https://. If it isn’t you may have some other htaccess blocking it.

The provider send everything tho https …could it be a www and non www thing ?

this is the message

The requested URL was not found on this server.

That code above sends everything exclusively to https://. If the provider is sending traffic to https://www that would likely cause problems. I cannot understand why any web host would insist on sending visitors to a www version. That is obviously going to cause problems for some.

Frankly I would check with your web host. It looks to me like they can tell you why this is going wrong.

An afterthought: My web hosts insists on adding an SSL certificate with every new site, but they leave it open for the developer to choose https://www or simply https://.

Another afterthought: Have you updated the site url in project settings correctly?

Is your hosting provider using CPanel? If yes you’ll find a setting to redirect on your dashboard which you should use. In this case there’s no need to modify your .htaccess file

Hi @tom2
Your new url is for & I believe that is your host’s url. You need to use your website address

Hi @Bill

thanks  I know this. This domain was just a demo

Hi @Jerry

no, its not C Panel. Thanks for your help. I don’t get it to work. wrote a support ticket to the provider … Not sure if that helps

I will see
