Typing in the Search box at the bottom of the page and there are no Search results.
The website is romanticraft.com
Everything seems to be correct but no results. I have tried adding the bric again but same results.

Hey @RomantiCraft Welcome.
Sorry for the bumpy start with our search Bric.
Can you please turn off combine all JS and share a copy of the site or re-upload it so I can investigate further?
I think you have some hidden characters in your search description, likely pasted in that are breaking the data json file used for search.
I turned off combine all JS and re-uploaded.
Thanks Norm
I have spent a lot of time rebuilding my website into Blocs but I believe you make the best website builder out there. At first I was concerned since it’s a large website, but designing with Blocs has been great.
You are using quotes "
in your descriptions. For example following places (I did not look at each and every string):
You have to remove these quotes. They are breaking the search functionality.
Jannis,
I removed all quotes in the descriptions from each page they appeared, re-uploaded the site with the new changes. Cleared my browser cache and tried again but still no search functionality.
Thanks for your help.
I tried search…it does nothing.
I am NOT a technical person, can’t trouble shoot, just re-confirming that the search box does not work.

I can see the problem. You also have line returns at the end of some of your descriptions. You can’t input line returns into this field in Blocs, which means they get added when you copy and paste text in.
Blocs has fail safes in place now that will stripe them, however, I did find a loop hole in my recent testing.
If a project has pasted in descriptions containing line returns, tabs and quote characters that pre-date Blocs V5.2.2 (March 2024) then it will cause the issue you are encountering.
The line returns are at the very end of your descriptions and from what I can see these are the pages effected:
I’ve updated Blocs V5.2.7 (beta build 5) so it considers this scenario going forward and will run corrections on the descriptions during export as well. The fix is ready for next weeks beta release.
In the meantime, you can manually correct the descriptions you should find it works.
Thanks for taking the time to re-upload your site, it was very helpful.
Norm,
That worked. Search works perfectly now.
Thank you so much for taking your time to help me.
My pleasure. Glad that’s working now.
