So, I got a new 4K camera yesterday, new lighting, a tripod, and other gear for live streams for my YouTube channel, and I am thinking about new ways I can help the Blocs Community! Of course, I have many things planned for BlocsMaster.com courses, but doing something on the Blocs Master YouTube channel might be good as well.
Here’s what I’m thinking:
A 2-part live stream on YouTube, maybe 1 or 2 times per month at max.
Featuring me and another guest (whoever wants to participate, different every time) talking about some predetermined topics.
30 minutes discussing the topic of the stream, then 30 minutes (or more if time allows) taking questions from the live chat.
I am sure if this gains traction, @Helen and the Blocs Marketing team will also join the efforts!
One of the reasons I haven’t done that years ago was the fast that there is just not enough people in our community who could in theory participate as guests (crucial for podcasts). With Whitfield not participating here anymore, we have even less people now than we had before.
I don’t want to create a podcast when I am the only one taking all the time
@Eldar I love the idea of a live stream and I am sure you would do a great job of hosting this, my only concern, like you, is that I wonder if there would be enough people to participate as guests
Yeah, I think I will just stick to tutorials then. There’s no point in doing these streams if there aren’t many people to ask questions or have a conversation with. And I guess some people are not comfortable being recorded and shared on video, which is also totally understandable.
Tutorials work great for people and are easily accessible, so I guess there’s no harm in just sticking to what works. As for the Blocs Master Podcast, I will put it on the shelf for a few more years.
Maybe consider approaching it in a smaller capacity of only 2 to 4 times a year.
Regardless of heavy Q&A participation it would be a benefit just like your free and paid tutorials since you would be recording it. In this capacity of lesser commitment it would be easier to acquire guest speakers along with focusing on concentrated content verse trying to do it multiple times every month. Think quality (livestreams) over quantity (podcasts) as your time allows. Depending on the success you could then consider expanding things or even ending it down the road.
I like the idea Eldar.
One or two times per month I would definitely join.
I think before you give up on this idea you might want to try it out.
See who shows, who might want to talk.
** I think it’s a great idea Eldar. You don’t necessarily need guests at all. Great help for the Blocs community for sure. PLUS, what a great marketing tool for you. Cheers!
