SOLVED: Overlaying a container/column background with an SVG?

Is it possible to overlay an element background, like a container or div or colmn with an SVG?

The SVG is to sit under the main content.

If anyone is wondering, it’s really easy: Make the overlay (in this case a star SVG in blue with about 20% opacity. Then just add it to the container element as a background image using a custom class. Easy peasy.
