Hello, could you tell me if having version 4 and 6 in the same computer is possible ? I have several websites designed with version 4 that I wouldn’t like to migrate but I’d like to design new ones with version 6. Is this possible ?
Thanks a lot !
Hi @tonisala,
Blocs 4 – requires macOS 10.14 (Mojave) or later.
Blocs 6 – requires macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later.
As long as you are using an OS that supports both it should work.
Keep in mind Blocs 4 may have various issues the farther forward you move with macOS and Blocs 6 may start removing older macOS support eventually. So finding the sweet spot regarding the macOS is the key, Blocs Support may be able to offer what they feel is the macOS version for both Blocs 4 & 6.
What macOS are you on with Blocs 4 ? If you dont have Blocs 6, you can try to Blocs 6 trial and see how it goes.
Thanks a lot for your fast and great answer. I only design websites for fun but I have a website developed with Blocks 4. I bought Blocks 6 in order to migrate this website but I don’t know how long it will take me to migrate everything and in the meantime, I’ll probably add some pages to the Blocs 4 version. This is why I’d like to have both versions in my computer. My Mac is quite old but it runs osx v12.
Thanks again.
Its is easy to run them both on your Mac.
Name the Blocs 4 version “Blocs 4” and DON’T rename Blocs 6. Let it retain the “Blocs” name.
I had an issue when I did change Bloc 6, can’t remember what it was, but renaming Blocs 6 just “Blocs” fixed the problem.
I run 5 next to 6 all the time.

Thanks for also pointing that out @WeatherguyNH, it slipped my thoughts, but renaming is indeed important when running various versions. Given I have v1 through v5 on one machine I should have remembered.
Very important.
I made this mistake ones. It’s a mess.
