No, I don’t believe it does. The guidelines are not intended to prevent members from sharing opinions, experiences, or constructive criticism. They’re aimed at content whose primary purpose is to promote competing products or repeatedly undermine Blocs.
As always, we’ll consider the context and intent of the discussion when applying the guidelines.
Fair enough. The “discretion” of moderation will be interesting, since these are the first customized guidelines verse previously just using the standard Discourse boilerplate. It appears this thread is then a good litmus test and precedent regarding Part 3. What criteria or precedent did this nice positive thread not meet in contrast?
Check out the latest beta, you can duplicate and copy and paste multiple pages. Still working on a few quirks (duplicated and pasted pages don’t get inserted under the selection, but i’ll fix that up).
Anyway, Blocs is no longer as limited
P.S. Multiple project support coming later this year, so you will be able to copy and paste pages between projects too
@Blocs_User Moderation decisions and how the guidelines are applied are handled by Norm and I. If going forward you’re directly affected by a decision, you’re welcome to contact me to discuss it. Let’s keep this thread focused on the topic at hand. Many thanks!
I’m with you on that one. It’s sad that we are losing a great tool because of a developer’s decision based on greed. I am hoping for the Stacks Pro app to arrive so I can move all my projects and continue supporting my clients the way I should. Right now, I am thankful that Blocs exists, and with it, I can continue to work. Buying RapidWeaver now is a mistake; Elements will not open your old projects, and it is more closed than Apple’s own rules (I’m exaggerating). Bottom line: RapidWeaver is dead. We need to keep improving Blocs by supporting it and sharing feedback about what we need so we can do everything with it.
I jumped ship from Rapidweaver a looong time ago. I think maybe I upgraded to 5.x, but never really utilized functionality beyond that of 4.x. Still back then I found the app limiting, and too much functionality was something I had to purchase in addition to the core program.
I didn’t migrate directly to Blocs, but found it later. (Can’t remember if this was v1 or V2 …) I think Blocs has come a long way, and I never thought of going back to RW. When I tested other alternatives for Mac, I ended up sticking with Blocs, as I found pricing&value and feature set to match my needs and wallet better.
One feature I liked in RW, though, was a blog module, where I added posts in the app locally and published. In Blocs I use VoltCMS server side, and that’s fine. (And also making Wordpress themes with Blocs.) But a local blog engine that published correctly with RSS etc, was a good idea, IMHO
Yes, Blocs is now a very professional tool, and with the iPad and iPhone versions, it has positioned itself at another level. I am happy with Blocs, and to be honest, I miss a lot of stacks from RapidWeaver. Stacks was very advanced and really pushed the power of the platform to another level.
There are a lot of former RW users here on the forum who are now using BlocsApp for their work. BlocsApp is really good, and you can even use it to build large-scale projects. Anyone who believes in no-code for more demanding projects might as well believe in the man in the moon
I never used RW Classics myself, but I know many people around me who are still waiting for the StacksApp and are overlooking the fact that the RW train is heading toward the Elements App.
With build in CMS and hosting, things are really starting to pick up. Pricing is another matter.
If you make your living from web design, you shouldn’t look back—the tool that works for you right now is the best one…
If BlocsApp were to open up its API more to developers, there would still be plenty of room for growth; otherwise, this is likely to be a general limitation among its user base.

However, if the tool you master is no longer available it’s time to move to the closest one possible. In this case that’s Blocs for me. I was able to replicate all my clients websites fast and with no issues thanks to the minimalist library by @Eldar One of the most powerful add-ons ever made for Blocs in my opinion.
Would like to really encourage people to take time and earnestly learn where AI already is and where it is rapidly headed. It’s vastly more profound than the dot-com era and smartphone boom.
The ideal of No-Code & Low-Code has lost its former context, AI has shattered the limitations of traditional, rigid no-code sandboxes. So now is not the time to search after — *Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Isaac Norman Henkle Emmannuel Ambroise Diggs *(or the Man in the Moon) — and certainly not the time to be AI-Luddites.
Blocs is still broken, but at least it’s consistent in new and exciting ways to fail”
This is not humour. Bills comment is actually very disrespectful to us, the Blocs community, other third party developers and of course his own customers who have purchased his products for Blocs.
These views do not align with what we and I’m sure our customers expect from third parties, who advertise products on the Blocs Store and to the Blocs community.
Just to clarify, this forum is for customers who want to build websites with Blocs, and above all else want Blocs to succeed.
