I’ve been thinking through an “in a perfect world” idea and wanted to share it for feedback.
I write every day—usually 800–1000+ words—so volume isn’t an issue. It’s something I already do, and it helps me process what I’m dealing with. Don’t judge me.
What I’d like to do now is make that writing public. The goal is to turn it into a kind of legacy journal.
Where this gets more interesting is on the technical side. I’d like a system that can analyze all of my entries and automatically build meaningful connections between them. Not just basic tags or categories, but actual contextual links inside the content.
For example, if I write about a situation today that relates to something I wrote two months ago, the system would recognize that and suggest (and insert) an inline link between those posts.
In an ideal setup:
-
An LLM scans my full archive (currently in Blocs.app)
-
It identifies related ideas, themes, or situations across entries
-
It generates inline link suggestions based on that context
-
I can approve or reject those suggestions before they go live
-
Once approved, the links are automatically inserted into the content
After that, I would republish any updated entries to wherever they’re hosted (for example, a website or Substack).
So the end result is a living, interlinked journal where ideas connect over time without me manually managing all of it.
