BLOCS 3> BLOCS 4 Parallax effect changes

I made a website with Blocs 3.5.7 with a parallax effect. It looks as if only the content of the screen changes.

Now I have opened the page with Blocs 4 and the nice effect is gone. It’s still a parallax effect, but now the whole picture changes.

I haven’t changed any attitude.

Does anyone have any idea how this comes about?

I also ran into some difficulties by opening a blocs3 project with blocs4. At least I desided to build the project new from scratch. And I liked it to start with this new blank site. There were so many classes in the old project and I forgot the behavior of many of them. I like the new feature to write descriptions to classes.

Yes that’s the correct behaviour for Blocs 4. The parallax is now powered by JS so it works a little differently to the old version. In app it’s still using the same (old) effect which will be changing soon.

The main benefit of the new parallax style is that it works on mobile.

Found that by setting the init speed to a high value (1000) in the parallax js, it’s kinda like Blocs 3 behaviour.

Quick tip to fix parallax like Blocs 3 behaviour in v4

While waiting for a next update of Blocs, here is a tip to find the “background” effect as in Blocks 3. You have to modify a value in the “universal-parallax.js” file once the export is done. Open the file with “Textedit” for example. Look at the last line and change the value to 1000 after “speed:” Initially this value is 3 (this parameter manages the scroll speed when parallax). Save. Done.
