Anyone else here find the Backup function in Blocs to be nearly useless? I mean, the default is 10 backups, with a maximum 30 minutes apart. I need additional backups either once a day or every few days as well. I got stuck with a problem with some custom code and ended up with 10 copies of the same error. I can see if you JUST did something that you need to undo. But sometimes you need to go back a few days or a week.
Norm, can we add additional longer times to the Auto Backup feature, please?
You can change the number of backups in the settings. So instead of 10, let’s say 1,000. Doesn’t that work for you?
Additionally, once various development stages have been reached, we also change the project name. Using “Save As”—so “project-02.bloc,” then “project-03.bloc,” and so on. The auto-backup then starts over from the beginning with the project. . The old backup is retained.
If you want more security, you can also use Time Machine or a good backup tool, such as Arq.
