We have just released a brand new version of Blocs for Mac that we would love you to help us test
Lots of improvements to the Bloc Bar and a new way to compile multiple .bex files into a single installer, perfect for multiple custom Blocs, Brics and Site Templates ( thanks for all the input @Eldar ).
“Page Weight Calculator is now limited to MacOS Sonoma.”
Blocs App appears to have various features that only work on certain macOS versions and other features that only work on Apple Silicon. Ok.
But given this, is there a comprehensive list of these two scenarios for users and potential buyers that discloses this for understanding? I see its not part of the “Made for Mac” listing of technical requirements, etc.
Can a full list of these feature discrepancies be found disclosed somewhere for users regarding the app?
So I will instead default to your own innate knowledge of the app. It just seemed appropriate concerning disclosure, especially to those on-boarding or upgrading. So entirely your call regarding feature marketing and letting such things known. Do as you will, it was just a question upon seeing that exclusion listed.
Surprised to see you still support Big Sir and Monterey. Ventura will likewise be EOL later this year. Between 5-6 macOS versions across two different hardware architectures, many users can miss out on even those 2 marketed features that you listed.
UnFortunately macOS Intel is being forced to its demise so that will help level those aspects for developers. But also diminish excuses from developers, so it’s a two way benefit for Mac apps and users.
Yeah, it’s a collection of .bex files, that are archived together with a pac-info file to include the meta data (this is optional).
It means you can put some Brics, a few Custom Blocs and a Site Template all into a single installer file .bexpac. Once it’s installed, users can still manage each part individually, but its a single file for the end user.
I also found the double compression lowers the overall file size of a .bexpac which is an added benefit.
This can now be turned into a single installer file.
Yeah this is on my list. I’ll also be bringing .bex /.bexpac update functions to Blocs on iPad, now we have background processing on iPad and the OS is heading in a more pro direction.
