Hey everyone,

I’m very excited to let you know that after weeks of testing, Blocs for Mac 6.2 has now been officially released.

You can read all about this exciting new version of Blocs here.

As always, an official release means a smoking hot promo video to show off all of the new features! :firecracker::boom:

You can read the entire release notes for this version of Blocs here.

Finally, I’d like to thank everyone who has helped to test and shape this release of Blocs, it’s thanks to your feedback that Blocs continues to be the best website builder on the Mac.

The FTP manager is perfect. Now I can at least permanently assign an account to my project. BUT - I had to search for the symbol first. Can’t it be displayed as an unfilled heart so that it’s easier to recognize?

Here is a screenshot: Shottr

An awesome update to be sure, especially with regards to STACKED CONTAINERS. And on that note, I have one observation. Well, two, I guess.

First, I am pleased to see it appear in the Knowledgeable here.

Second, I am finding that when you have text overlaid atop an image, and when you also use Lightbox to display a larger graphic when clicked, it’s harder to click in the very center to trigger Lightbox with Stack Containers, in comparison to creating the same effect without Stacked Containers. I made a short video showing that below (no sound):

Most people probably will use Stacked Containers for text overlays atop graphics, and because you sometimes want to click a small graphic to make it larger, the use of Lightbox might be an issue.

Could be that nothing can be done about this (what you see in my video), and I suppose it’s not a major problem because you can still trigger the Lightbox (larger graphic) by clicking anywhere on the graphic other than the center, but it’s still something I wanted to mention nevertheless.

Thanks!

P.S. You’ll notice one more thing in my video too. When I do the in-Blocs PREVIEW, have a look at the upper right corner. That too is a new feature, where it’s supposed to tell you the page weight. It says my page is a huge negative number!

Hi @JDW, I don’t know id it can be done, but could you use the class stretched-link (I think it’s called that) on the text box which would then make the background image clickable too?
Really don’t know if it would work with stacked containers, but just a thought.

I added that class to the text box and did an in-Blocs Preview, but it made no difference, unfortunately.

Try giving your overlayed text a class and set the pointer events to none.

This should hopefully pass the click back to the image behind.

Yikes! Your website looks like it’s have been on a very strict diet.

Any chance I can get my hands on this file so I can fix/improve that calculation.

I love these kind of super simple solutions, Norm. That works perfectly! Thank you!

I will send the file in a formal bug report. Thanks!

That makes perfect sense when explained like this, but I really haven’t a clue what terminology should happen in what order when trying to use the interaction manager!

I’ve looked at videos, read what’s going on here, and that’s all logical, but when I try it, all logic seems to go out of the window! I’ve only dabbled with it so far, so I MUST try and put a few hours into it to try more because it looks so useful.

@Norm Can anything be done?

That’s all fixed up and ready for 6.2.1 (beta starts early next week).

Looks like some kind of rendering issue with Sequoia

Hello, I really love the intense power you put into Blocs – great!
Honestly I would love to see a “What’s new” video that is a bit more graspable and less “Swoosh”. I hardly can follow the speed and often have no clue, what it is about. Please consider this a constructive feedback.

Thanks and keep on rockin’!

Welcome to the forum and thanks very much for your feedback :+1:

Yeah these videos are more marketing based to grab attention.

I walk-through of the new features is what I think you would like to see. It’s a good idea.

Great. Blocs is the first software in the field of web design that I don’t regret a penny. I have been working in the field for over 20 years and I feel really well taken care of here.
