When editing the list, custom classes are still disappearing.

Classes are cleared here because the elements are being regenerated by the Menu Manager when you update the menu, I’ll disable the class field in a future build for these elements.
Build your menu manually with the menu data source set to none if you want to use classes on the children of the menu.
