If you have a dedicated IP its easy, if not you have to buy a dynamic ip and associate with your domain, so what happened is. Someone type your domain, it goes to the dynamic IP server and it knows exactly what IP you have in that specific time, and redirect for your IP.

Then you need a web server, or use the MAMP, XAMPP, etc to host your webpage.

Then in your router you redirect the port 80 or 443 to the IP of the web server of the application you have.

Thanks a lot. I have yet to figure out how this works

why should you want to do that ?

Its possible to set up a test server with a computer in your home or office, but I would not recommend hosting sites on it for anything other than use behind a firewall as an intranet.

Don’t do it.

If you don’t have an expensive internet connection your upload speed will be very slow so your visitors will see your site as a very poor performer.

It’s going to be more hassle than it’s worth.

You don’t want to be leaving computers on 24/7 just to host a website.

Web hosting is cheap.
