On this site I am trying to change the font globally.
I am using local web fonts. Originally this was Poppins but I switched to EB Garamond in the project settings.
This shows on the canvas but not in preview mode nor in preview-in-browser.
Exporting showed that all the fonts already used were in the fonts folder including EB Garamond.
I subsequently removed Poppins ( and others) from the project but this did not work.
I then removed Poppins from the fonts manager. And removed all unused classes.
And trawled through all the remaining classes to see if I had missed something.
Closed and opened bloc and the Mac.
All to no avail.
Exporting now only shows Garamond in the Font File but the CSS file shows that Poppins is retained in the project despite all of the above.
Any suggestions for my next move?
Richard
I am with blocs 5.1.4 on an iMac M1 with Sonoma 14
Thanks for looking Jerry. I can see them and they baffle me.
Poppins has been removed from the Font Manager. And it is not in the Project Settings. EB Garamond is the only font set there. For all.
Cosequently Poppins and is not available in the options in the dropdown box in the inspector , nor is it uploaded to the Font File on exporting.
Even selecting EB Garamond for an item switches to Poppins in preview.
But somehow it remains in a class ? And lives on in the CSS from where it acts disobediently?
So how to overide it permantly or remove it ? Rebuild the whole site ?
I do have a saved copy of the site and I seem to have got a solution that works for the moment. By not changing the prefered font in project settings but on an item by item basis from in the inspector. Which is OK for the present, and the client. But leaves me feeling a bit wary.

I have done this before… in the CSS file use find, to find instances of the font that have been set, and then change them in the class editor. Lots of fun I know lol.
I think there needs to be an easier way to remove a font, and it should reset all instances in classes, but It doesn’t appear to do that.
Thanks for that recommendation for a fun day Pete. I have set about the joy. But - I have found instances of the font in the exported css file and cleared them from the class editor. No real damage so far to the site as they were often styles other than fonts - color for example or padding.
Then saved and exported to a whole new folder. CSS file checked - but it still shows the class of dumped styles , !
So it is still there but no longer in my class editor and consequently not even editable anymore.
As you say Lots of fun
However the site is beginning to behave. I will take Jerry’s advice and although 200% seems a tough ask
I will give it go.
Your last thought gets my vote and I hope others of greater influence take note. It seems bizarre that having removed a font from the Project Settings + the Fonts Manager and is no longer present in the exported Font File it can still hang around to create mischief.
Thanks for the advice and have a fun day too
