Is it possible to make a collapsing Sidebar Menu on blocs?
Something like this?
https://colorlib.com/etc/bootstrap-sidebar/sidebar-07/
This is something I have been looking at for a long time! I am on the verge of creating something like this - but if this can be done in Blocs…will be a huge game changer for me!
I know @Eldar did a video for a website with a side menu, but this collapsing one is something im desperate for a new project.
I saw @Eldar video but it doesn’t collapse. I mean its possible to do it with bootstrap and some extra libraries. Maybe some of the more advanced users know how to do it? @PeteSharp ?
This is the one I saw but I don’t know how to apply it into blocs
Yeah this would be such a great thing to be able to create.
I can do so much with something like this. @Stewie_Griffin im going to have a play and see how to get this to work - but my knowledge is pretty basic, but if i do find out - I will post!
Or better still @Eldar how about this for a tutorial video ! and a template to go with it!
Im building a dashboard with blocs and plug ins but haven’t been available to do this so far.
Well, I have a few ideas how to make this, but it doesn’t include using the solution provided on this bootstrap blog. If no one provides a solution for this, I might take on a challenge and build a new template with a sidebar like this.
@Eldar On the expample @Jerry post you have the code and the JavaScript. The only problem i see its blocs create new rows and columns so a bit confusing where to add the classes.
It baffles me !!
i have tried so many different ways and yes it can be done (somehow!) but for the user - ie, ourselves, i see this has being very difficult to use.
I think @Eldar with a no code approach (maybe a little to create a basic element) might be a much simpler way to keep on top of.
But with the link posted above @PeteSharp would be the one, would be worth a few coffees on his page if its done i would say @Stewie_Griffin - but this amount of code would frighten me
I gave it a quick shot, it needs a little work to smooth it out though.
I didn’t use the link, this is just a couple of lines of Javascript for the toggle, and the rest is CSS, most of it in the class manager.
Curious to what you come up with @Eldar. That would be a cool template. I would imagine your October template could be adapted really easily. It works well (better than this)
Brilliant ! that looks great! nice one.
That’s cool. I already have a list of improvements to make to October template next time I will upgrade it, and this sliding effect can be one of the things to add. Not sure if everybody will like that, but that’s cool to have as an option.
Yes, it wouldn’t be suitable for every case.
This is it!!! Awesome!!!
I can’t wait for this! I have been playing around and managed to do it but if I put the position into fixed my toggle btn its gone.
I never had mine toggle fixed. I would actually have it in the side bar. Maybe sticking out slightly and animated.
How did you Make yours to stay on the side? So you are using the navbar?
Actually I think I did from memory. And flex classes
Would you make one of your video series?
Maybe. I have a list of one to get through that people have requested.
