edited to add i’m using blocs 6.4.6 I started a new site using basic blocs, ran into multiple problems despite having created two multi page sites years ago with BLocs 2 which need to be updated, so starting from scratch. Finally I’d ask chatgpt and ended up with a bunch of css added via code editor-additional css. So after 2 weeks I purchased the minimalist library and the master 6 course.
I’m giving up on the Plain blocs as one week later all i’ve got is nav bar finished, hero on home page but nothing else. So I’m looking at Minimalist templates but can not replicate the simple Hero with H1 and H2 and button. The styling of the 8 hero pages in that library is different. Am I missing something and should I go back to just what i’ve created using regular blocs and not minimalist? The problem there is that the Global css added does not seem to overide each bric- i have to modify for eg. change Helvetic to my global Inter reg. I am really not understanding how these two things work- Plain blocs and Minimalist. One instruction said they work together, another said no.
I’m the creator of Minimalist Library. You can use custom blocs from Minimalist Library in the exactly same way as you would use built-in blocs. You can use both at the same time without any problem.
The styles you set for H1, H2, and all other elements are applied to Minimalist Library sections automatically. If you haven’t already watched it, check out the video below to see how to use the library:
As mentioned previously, AI probably does not have the required detailed in-depth scope of Blocs, hopefully those aspects can be improved as things move forward. So your mileage will vary and hallucinations will probably be present the more specific to Blocs the inquiries are, verse more vague contexts.
I think once you get up and running with @Eldar’s courses and offerings you will have a much better direct understanding without AI, until that becomes more reliable.
Hey @jc99 first of all thanks for updating to Blocs 6, it’s a huge leap forward compared to Blocs 2, However, all of that new functionality does come with a learning curve, depending on your end goal.
It would be super helpful if you could share some of the tasks you have struggled with when moving up form Blocs 2. Was it formatting text, styling items with colour, positioning items, etc.
All feedback is very valuable and can often lead to subtle tweaks and changes that make Blocs easier to use.
Hi @jc99 Blocs 6 by itself is out of this world…..adding Minimalist is like blocs on steroids ! all the work is done and its drag and drop.
You do not need chat gpt or code to do make great blocs websites unless its something specific you need code for and it will help…..but remember Ai is like someone once said - its like a covers band, it gets all the information out there and displays the information……you do not need to get the covers band when the real deal is on this forum! @Norm and @Eldar will help and users on here.
