Ghost in the machine: I opened a project and discovered that on one page there is a DIV with some text content in it. In edit screen it also looks kind of greyed out.
I can’t delete it. I can’t hide it. I can#t edit the text in it. No matter what I try, I can’t get rid of it. And I don’t really know how it got there.
Finally I gave up and just exported the page, and then afterwards I deleted the DIV in question in a code editor.
Was just wondering if anybody else had this experience …
What happens when you try to duplicate the bloc with this DIV? I had something like that years ago, and I remember I was able to quickly solve it by rebuilding the bloc.
Thanks for the tipp! Unfortunately didn’t help any.
What’s really weird is: I have 7 rows and columns with H3 + P items, nothing special. As I said earilier, in one of these columns a DIV suddenly appeared containing some text.
And the weird part: everything below the mystery DIV is now no longer within a column. It’s like the row and column structure has been deleted - the H3 and P tags are no longer contained within a row/column structure … too weird …
I finally just rebuilt the whole thing from scratch …
I encountered exactly this problem this week. Searched for others who may have had the problem and found your post. Like you, I could not delete the strange greyed out text in Blocs. Also like you, I ended up exporting the page, editing it in BBEdit and uploaded it to replace the page on my website. But it is a right pain!
Grateful I found this thread but upsetting that it’s been over a year and this bug is still present! I just coughed up the money to purchase Blocs so hugely bummed that I need to do these workarounds.
Yep, I have had this problem.
It was fairly constant on Blocs 5, have seen it once in B6 so far.
It is a REAL PIA!!!
There was no solution. I usually had to delete and rebuild the bloc as others have stated.
After that happened to me a couple of times, I started saving my site after EVERY change, and I mean every change. I add a picture and some text, I save.
I found, by doing this when I encountered the un-deleteable Bloc, I was able to “back up” a bit, reload, and avoid having to rebuild the Bloc.
Wish I had a better solution for you…wish this bug was fixed…
Since this thread has not got a response from the developer in 1 year & 4 months, and you are new to Blocs and decide you want a refund you have 14 days to do so, if you desire - interesting the 1 & 4 correlation.
