Hey Blocs Brics fans,

Weather widgets are having a major comeback lately, but every option we found was either an ugly branded with a 2010 looks iframe or wanted an API key and a subscription. So we built one properly, as a native Bric, and I’m giving it away :star_struck:: WeatherPro is completely free for all Blocs users.

What it does

A clean, modern live weather card on any page: current temperature, conditions, wind, humidity, plus an optional 3 to 5 day forecast. It updates live in the visitor’s browser and caches results for 15 minutes so it stays light.

The best part: zero setup

WeatherPro uses Open-Meteo (the open-source weather service), so there is no API key, no account and no monthly fee. Add the Bric, type your latitude and longitude (there is a lookup button in the sidebar), preview. That’s it, live weather.

There is also an Auto-Detect option: one checkbox and each visitor sees the weather where THEY are (standard browser permission prompt, your fixed location as fallback). No cookies, no tracking.

Styling

It’s a native Bric, so it matches your design: background, text and accent colours (Global Swatches supported), corner radius, shadow, a frosted glass mode that looks great over hero photos, horizontal or vertical layout, Full or Compact sizes, °C or °F, km/h or mph, and you can hide any data point. From a full forecast card down to just an icon and a temperature. Icons are hand-drawn SVG line icons mapped from the official WMO weather codes.

Hi Blocs Brics Fans,

WeatherPro 1.0.2 is out. :partying_face:

Same FREE Bric, nothing to rebuild, and any odd values saved by 1.0.1 are cleaned up automatically :broom:.

Fixes

  • A latitude or longitude with stray text no longer stops the widget loading on the published site. Invalid values fall back to the default, and a comma works now as a decimal point.
  • A Location Name that contains a double quote no longer breaks the widget.
  • If a visitor ignores or dismisses the location prompt with Auto-Detect on, the widget no longer stays blank. It shows the fixed location.
  • Wind speed now reads mph instead of mp/h.
  • Corner Radius values are cleaned up.

New

  • Multiple WeatherPro widgets can be put in one project now, each will keep their own location, units and forecast.
  • Added “Show Description” checkbox in the sidebar UI.
  • A “Loading weather…” card appears while the weather loads, instead of an empty space.

Improved

  • The default location is consistently Singapore, and the canvas preview shows your Location Name instead of a fixed sample name.
  • The widget keeps working even if Blocs leaves a setting unfilled in the exported script.

Existing users can update through the extension manager and new users can download the update from the Blocs Store. Manual can be found here: WeatherPro Docs.

Housekeeping message:

Brics were previously distributed through Gumroad. All sales have now moved to LemonSqueezy :lemon:.

Our Gumroad store stays online for now, but updates and new Brics are released only through LemonSqueezy and the Blocs Extension Manager. :police_car_light:
