Help Needed with Website Appearance in Google Search

Hi Everyone,

My website is live, but when I search for it on Google, the display is not as I intended. I’m unsure how to make the necessary changes.

  1. How can I change the title that appears at the top of the search results? (see image below)
  2. Why is the meta description not displaying as expected? It seems to pull text from a different section of my website instead of the designated meta description. (see image below)

Any insights or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Are you editing the SEO title and description for the Home page? It should be the index page.

Thanks for the reply! What is the difference between the index and homepage? My website is a one-pager so I guess the homepage and the index page is the same? Or am I not understanding something? Below is a screenshot of the page settings of the same page.

Yes, that’s correct page. So, you are entering the SEO title and description for this page? If that’s the case, and your live website is still showing different values, maybe there is cache problem on your server or something. Try deleting the old files, and uploading the new version using the FTP client to make sure you have the new files uploaded.

Thanks Eldar. Yeah, maybe I have to wait until everything updates properly. I have deleted and reuploaded the files on the FTP many times everytime I make changes, so I think it should be ok.

Still I am wondering where to change the top title of the google search snippet. Do you have an idea?
