Hostinger in 2025 & Shared vs Cloud

Hi all,

Many years ago I used 1&1 (Now IONOS) and got caught in their many pricing tricks of adding things on and not saying and refusing to take off things - I then moved to Siteground’s shared hosting for a while.

And when the live streaming times during covid hit full swing I moved all my websites for myself and others into their cloud hosting where I am right now.

The cloud hosting they offer is fully scaleable which was out of this world for live events and streaming to large numbers etc - never ever had an issue.

Unfortunately this comes with a cost and I have heard on some forums a possible price hike again, its only a rumour and Spotify have said its not going to happen this year - but will be around £80-100 a month plus vat for the lower tier.

So my question is - I actually LOVE using siteground, find it flawless but again I do think general business websites around my local area could run on their shared hosting which will be £29.99 + vat per month. The customer service is instant and good too.

Now I am a sucker for sticking with large branded businesses for my hosting rather than small independent hosting or re-sellers.

So after the ramble above  I am seeing who is using Hostinger in 2025 and would you recommend it? I have read their customer service has improved a LOT and got much better…I do worry on how cheap it is at £3.79 a month!

And what are people using - shared hosting or cloud?

Thanks all !

Working in webhosting myself for over 16 year now, I can tell you to be wary for cheap offers. There’s 2 options:

  • Either they are willfully taking a loss (probably because they have venture capital investing in them) to grow their user base quickly. Then, once their targeted growth has been reached, they’ll increase the pricing (because strictly spoken, you’re certain you’ll have a certain percentage that renews, no matter the price)
  • Or they really want to remain at the lowest end of the pricing, but in that case this means overpopulating the servers. For you as the end customer, this means more “noisy neighbours” (e.g. downtime caused by other sites on the same server wreaking havoc).

As such I would not advise you to go for the lowest prices in the market, but aim for the mid-segment

U.S. based KnownHost works very well. So many options to choose from.

Hey Rich,
I checked out Pair, but found it really difficult to find details on Dedicated, and VPS package break down and cost. Not the easiest to navigate. IMO, this should be easy to locate.
Do you know where Pair Networks, Inc. is located or who owns it?

Hi KB:

PAIR is located in Pittsburgh PA in the USA.
They have a toll free phone number and they answer questions pretty quickly.
I moved over to them about 4 years ago and never looked back.
I find their tech support fast and quick, and frankly, show me a service like this that you can call on the phone and someone actually picks up?
