I am using the Minimalist library version 3.1 and want to create a dropdown menu in the menu bar. I searched beforehand but found that others have more complicated needs than mine. I suppose my question is a beginner’s one, so any help in achieving this would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

I don’t think Offcanvas feature (or the bric) is needed for simple dropdown menus. But yeah, it’s good if you want to create some nice animated collapsible sidebar menus or something like that.
