How to work with Bento template contact page?

So I’m spinning up a quick business page for myself, which is VERY different than my personal sprawling no-Wordpress no-CMS blog site with hundreds of pages.

It’s mostly a single-page so decided to give the Bento template a try. I had to do some modifications but that went fine overall.

Only after publishing did I realize the contact form seems to not be working. I’m on a new hosting provider and it seems I don’t have typical ssh access into the host, while the contact button just goes to ‘submit form’ action.

I removed the ‘mandatory’ checkbox to force the user to let you spam them and that’s the entirety of the Contact form change made.

What do I need to ensure is in place on the host for the contact form to work as expected?

Anyone? I could change it all to hard-coded mailto links but I’m assuming it’s intended to actually work per the template contact form.

Will give it a bit more poking, may be something obvious I’m missing but also figured some are using the templates and already ran into this.

Have you tried using SMTP for the form posting?

I need to go dig in. Looks like my other site’s basic contact form is now no longer working either, but it was ages since I set up the full environment on the last host..
