As a photographer, I’ve been using WeTransfer’s Reviews & Portals feature to upload photos for client review — allowing them to comment or mark their favorites for final export. To my surprise, this service will be discontinued at the end of November.
I’m now considering creating a similar system directly on my own website. Ideally, I’d like to upload around 30 photos as a gallery and give clients the ability to mark the ones they like (e.g., with a simple “Y” or “N” or just “X”). This way, I could see their selection of photos they like for final delivery.
Is there a way to build such a gallery in Blocs, where clients can view images and mark their preferred ones?
1.) find an existing third party service and implement it into Blocs
2.) code something custom (it can even be done with only vanilla js)
3.) hope a bric developer creates a solution
Wow, this WeTransfer has been the go to and a long time. Does anyone know of service that offers the same benefits? What will the Film and Music Industry use now?
As an alternative, you could create web photo galleries in Adobe Lightroom or with the standalone JuiceboxBuilder app. Then upload the galleries to somewhere on your website using Filezilla or similar.
Although the paid version of JuiceboxBuilder can integrate with shopping carts, which would allow customers to specify favorites, many basic gallery formats only display a file name or number that customers would have to send you manually.
But creating and uploading basic galleries is not too difficult.
Thank you. Yeap, I will go with Lightroom cloud for client proofing.Tto my surprise nothing exists for Blocs. The Lightroom version looks great and works well.
Why surprised, are you aware of another desktop web development app (like Blocs) that has this feature built in (I’ve never seen it)? Though an app like Wappler could create it through inbuilt logic.
It is possible even within Blocs, but would require code.
EDIT: no interest, intrigue, questions, so pretty much like this unfortunately.
Always easy to ask a Bric developer to have a look, when the market is not very large for such a Bric.. The implementation time in regards to the possible sales might not justify it.
Now in Lightroom you can now create a collection of images and in SHARE you can make public or private, allow commenting and also generate code to embed in a blocs code wiget. No need to create web galleries. Look below at the top right next to invite. It’s a generate code icon.
Yes, JuiceboxBuilder is simply a third-party web gallery builder, with free and paid versions.
If you don’t use Adobe Lightroom to create galleries or file shares, JuiceboxBuilder is another way to do that. Once created, you would need to upload each gallery to your website or a file sharing service like Dropbox.
But if you have Lightroom, I would first explore its capabilities for accommodating your needs.
99% of websites I find for something like this will always use a dedicated third party app/plugin etc that can simply embed into a website.
Not sure what it will do what @mp_7 is after but I have used Picflow a LOT for live event websites where the client would upload images from the event and it would mirror on the website from their app or how ever they uploaded.
Yes, this could be a great solution - I have used shared Adobe Lightroom albums myself. Whether you use a shared album, or generate web galleries, Lightroom offers various possibilities. Choose whatever works best for your situation or workflow.
For those of us, like me, who are finally trying to escape the Adobe subscription tyranny, it is also nice to have other options, such as from third parties.
But hopefully the original poster can find a quick and suitable solution.
Thank you for detailed “how to…”. As replied above, I am already using this with my Lightroom, find it to be the best option out there - obviously only for those who are still with Lightroom.
I am not really an expert on what developers do and don’t do or how complicated or not is to have such a feature. So excuse my ignorance, I thought that I cant be the only one requesting this. If people do design their online shops with Blocs, I thought there is some system for feedback / evaluation. So yes, I am still surprised there is nothing built in.
But I agree, Blocs offers undoubtedly biggest collections of tools and elements for its price. I am trying Elements from Realmac these days and I am surprised how bare bone their software is offered for and for how much they do sell their Essential pack.
