Since Elixer Graphics will stop selling and supporting Foundry and Alloy for Rapidweaver Classic in a month’s time, I am forced to look for another solution for my blog. On the advice of several members in the Foundry community, I ended up with Blocs in combination with Volt CMS.
After reading all the information and support about Blocs and Volt, I decided to buy it. Only one question remains for me about Volt: As I have about 2000 posts, including images, and more to come in the future, my question is whether there is a limit on the number of posts in Volt?
Welcome @Jakob to blocs and sorry to read about Foundry coming to an end. This was something I did look into many years ago before I moved to Blocs and after some talking to both developers I knew Blocs was and still is to this day the best decision I made.
@Jannis is typing a reply as I am typing ! so I am sure he will answer your question.
Welcome again and will be great to see your work in Blocs.
Forgot to mention, I am a Volt user too and it its been brilliant. Unlimited Blogs and CMS on websites is perfect for several event websites I have created and some of my own personal websites.
No, there is no technical limit in the number of posts.
Of course there might a practical limitation regarding speed.
You could send me your Alloy content in a direct message, and I can check if it is theoretical possible to reuse this content in any form. Please don’t expect too much
Good to hear that there is no limit on the number of posts, and any potential restrictions on speed are not a problem for me.
Thank you for your offer to check whether the content from Alloy can be reused in any form. However, this is not a high priority for me (as long as the PHP version of Alloy is still supported) because I first want to explore the possibilities of Blocs and Volt on a subdomain. If I’m satisfied with that and want to transfer the posts from Alloy, a few days of Copy-Paste won’t be too much of an issue for me. I can immediately delete the posts that are no longer relevant.
