Migrating to Blocs: A First Step Toward Greater Flexibility

To explore the potential of Blocs, I migrated this tech startup’s website—originally built with RapidWeaver. There’s still plenty for me to learn and a number of adjustments to make, but the client prioritized getting the new Ecwid integration online as quickly as possible.

Great work, Marcus. Love to see this. I’m an Adobe Muse refugee and did a ton of due diligence before finally settling on Norm’s great platform. Looked at browser-based and all other usual suspects. I bought and learned RapidWeaver but soon switched to Blocs. @Norm persuaded me that they were aggressively developing and not going anywhere. Very happy with my decision. The combination of Norm’s work and Eldar’s training modules made all the difference. You’re obviously pretty far along, but I would still recommend you buy into Eldar’s program, if you haven’t already. Like many designers, web development is only one thing I have to worry about. I could be busy with non-web tasks for weeks before retuning to a site. Expedient learning and re-learning is crucial. @Eldar is your guy for that, both for his knowledge and his awesome attitude. Bargain. 100%

Hi Eldar,
Actually, this is my second attempt with Blocs. I first created a website for my wife using one of your templates. For this larger project, I never would have managed without your excellent Masterclass — huge thanks for those!

Thank you for your comment! I only wish I had discovered Blocs before investing so much time and money into RapidWeaver. Don’t get me wrong—it’s a solid tool, especially with the Foundry add-on. But after the recent change in direction on their part, I started looking for a new solution.

From now on, I plan to build all new websites with Blocs and gradually migrate my existing RapidWeaver sites over. The excellent Blocs documentation—and, as you mentioned, Eldar’s training modules—really tipped the scale and helped me confidently choose Blocs.
