SignMe is live.
The challenge: you write a contract, you save it as a PDF and email it to the client, then the client prints it, signs it, scans/photographs it, emails a photo of a signature, and you spend the afternoon assembling a PDF that no longer looks like the page you designed.
SignMe keeps the whole thing on your website!
What it is
A page in your Blocs project becomes the contract. You create/write it with ordinary Brics, use headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, images, anything you want. SignMe sits around your content, adds the signing form underneath, and when the visitor hits the button it โphotographsโ the real page and creates the PDF
.
Their signature goes on the document. Their initials go on every page. A final record page carries the timestamp, time zone, browser, the consent wording they ticked, and a fingerprint of the contract text. Your logo can sit across the top. Page numbers and a footer can say whatever you want, in whatever language.
The signer downloads the PDF. With Email or Store delivery it is also filed in a signme-store folder on your own server (one level above the site root when the host allows it). No draft state. No signer account. Nothing leaves for a third-party service.
How you build a contract page:
- Drop SignMe on the page. The card is the wrapper. The empty DIV container is the contract.
- Write the contract inside it. Style it like any other Blocs page. The PDF is a photograph of that page, so fonts and layout survive exactly.
- Drop Page Break Brics at clause boundaries. No breaks = one PDF, which is fine when it is short.
- Drop a Signature Block after the last clause. Set Block For to Signer. On Pro, add a second block set to Counter-signer where you will sign later. That block stays blank on the live page on purpose, it is just holding the space.
- Work down the sidebar: which fields you need, initials on or off, Download / Email / Store, logo, dates, footer etc. etc.
- Preview. Fill the form. Sign it yourself. Read the PDF. That is the only reliable test.
The signing form is hidden on the canvas so it does not sit on top of the contract while you write. Switch on Show Form While Designing when you are picking colours.
What happens when clicking the button
The form is checked. The contract text is fingerprinted (https required for the hash). The signature block is filled in. Pages are split at your breaks, initialled, numbered, footered. A record page is appended. The PDF downloads. Email and Store also post it to your server.
