Not Plug and Play

I’m new To Blocs. I know that Blocs is a proven software. I am here for the long haul. I Love a lot about it. However, I must say you do need more code knowledge than what is promoted. You must be W3 compliant and able to generate security codes. If you don’t fully understand basic HTML you are in for a tuff time. I’m there. Just simply trying to figure out what “Resistance” means is a task. I still can’t figure it out. Is there an actual printed Blocs manual out there that explains this software? Blocs for dummies? Something? Is paying for a knowledge subscription my only option?

In all honesty; I also have no knowledge of any secret language used to build websites; hence my choice for Blocs. With all the basics in Blocs you can build a beautiful website and you can find a lot of nice extras in the Blocs store. Almost everything works without too much effort.
And if you do encounter certain questions, you have this forum. There are a number of seasoned specialists here who are never afraid to help you!
A big tip from me: buy Minimalist… with this you can really build a beautiful website very quickly and without much effort!

A manual?
When you launch Blocs there is a link to Blocs Academy with MANY videos tutorials.

Have you tried that?
Blocs Master is a paid service I highly recommend.

Thanks Rich. I will look further into that documentation.

Hey @Cal.L

Welcome to Blocs! I’m a Blocs user with pretty much no coding knowledge at all. Of course, from time to time, I do Google some simple code I might want for something super customized, but for the majority (99%) of my projects, I haven’t used any code at all.

As others have mentioned, there are quite a few places where you can find free and paid guides and tutorials for Blocs. I produce some of them (mostly free, but also paid Blocs Master courses).

Some of the best sources of the information:

Blocs Knowledge Base - free : https://help.blocsapp.com
(written tutorials from the creator of Blocs app)

Blocs Academy - free : https://academy.blocsapp.com
(short video tutorials from the creator of Blocs app)

Blocs Website Builder YouTube - free : https://www.youtube.com/@BlocsWebsiteBuilder
(official YouTube channel from the creator of Blocs with bunch of tutorials)

Blocs Master YouTube - free : https://www.youtube.com/@BlocsMaster
(video tutorials from a nocode Blocs user)

Eldar Gezalov YouTube - free : Blocs Tutorials playlist
(a bit older video tutorials from a nocode Blocs user, still useful)

Blocs Builder YouTube - free : https://www.youtube.com/@blocsbuilder
(if you want to combine Blocs with some code)

Blocs Master Courses - free & paid : https://blocsmaster.com/
(more detailed and structured courses from a nocode Blocs user, bundled with a priority support)

Not to mention our forum. It is super helpful.

Cheers,
Eldar

Eldar’s Blocs 5 Course and Blocs Master Membership are great sources. I personally was able to build my first Blocs website quite easily with zero knowledge of coding whatsoever. Highly recommended!

Thanks! That’s a lot of information you gave me. Thanks for taking the time to do that! I will be checking every link!

Hi @Cal.L, I come form an illustrative/graphic design background via a couple of ‘user-friendly’ web apps. I have no coding knowledge whatsoever, but I manage to turn out solid, stable websites that clients are happy with, so it CAN be done without knowledge - I’m the proof, and if I can, anyone can!
I’m not the brightest bric in the Bloc.

Hey @Cal.L,

Welcome to the Blocs community.

Learning new software can often be time consuming and frustrating, however, Blocs has a great community forum full of helpful users who are always happy to assist.

As well as this, Blocs has a knowledge base full of helpful documentation and a free online video academy that is full of helpful tutorial videos for both Blocs on Mac and iPad.

I’m Norm the creator of Blocs, as well as developing the software, I do my best to help users here in the forum. Please feel free to share your initial pain points here in this thread, it would be great to hear what you found confusing on your first few days building Blocs.

If it helps, I created bramhill.net with no extra coding whatsoever.
