Opening lightbox galleries from accordion

Hello everyone - Happy Monday.

Just rejigging my site in the Super New Blocs (and only using about 2% of it’s current capabilities), I have a quick question:

To save initial loading times for galleries, I have each set on Volt CMS thumbnails in a dropdown accordion, filtered by year of painting them. When I click on a thumbnal to expand the picture to full screen Lightbox, the accordion closes. I’m thinking there may be some invisible magic overlay on top of the content area.

Does anyone know how to make this work?

And just scroll down to galleries, because (another problem), the scroll to targets in the main menu are very hit and miss, and when they do ‘stick’, they’re not quite hitting the targets - but that’s a question for another day.
Cheers everyone

Is the light box a Blocs one or setup within the Volt admin? I don’t recall if Volt has it’s own for replaceable images.

Thats lazy loading images, turn that off (project settings > export) if you want better scroll to on first load.

Thanks for the reply @Norm.
It’s the Volt gallery within the accordion, & Lazy Loading is turned off. Here’s my exports settings.

So if there’s no reply to this, I’m assuming it’s a no and can’t be done.

Would opening each year up in a modal work and be a better thought anyone/everyone?
I’d really like the galleries hidden initially until something is initiated.

Clicking on the thumbnail will most probably trigger the accordion to close. Nothing I can do about this.

Fair enough @Jannis, that’s the answer I was expecting so I can now go to ‘plan B’.

Thanks very much for the confirmation.

Have a goodie all.

Maybe it’s worthwhile to look into the blog for this purpose. You can have one gallery per post. I don’t know if using a modal will help with loading times.

And yes your email is still in my inbox

Great answer Jannis, so I can add a gallery into the blog post and have the pictures become full screen?
Not sure I can immediately get my head around it.

Yes, if you use the “Blog post + gallery” bloc editor, this option will appear in the online blog post.

Perfect, thanks. I shall be playing with that tomorrow (hopefully)
