Responsively App for testing your sites

During an excellent (and fun) Blocs chat today, Responsively was mentioned.

I have since installed and had a play. It’s free and works really well for testing your sites with various devices, not to mention it comes with a ton of features.

Obviously my testing hasn’t been exhaustive, but if you already use it, feel free to share your impressions. So far I like it.

Update:

I use BrowserSync and LocalWP in my workflow. I have tested Responsively with both, and it works great!

I wonder if Blocs could add Responsively as a browser option, since Solis is no longer an option I gather. These days I tend to live test where possible from Blocs to my iPhone, but obviously I don’t have access to multiple devices.

Yeah, the local network preview feature in Blocs is very good, nothing like live testing on an actual device. But I have limited devices. It’s one of my fav features in Blocs.

I am not sure what happened with Solis, great potential, just never got any attention. Last time I tried it, it didn’t work. Waste of money :grimacing:

Many thanks for sharing as I hadn’t heard about Responsively App before. Just checked it out and it’s a pretty awesome way to validate the your websites.

I’ve mentioned various ones in the past which garnered little interest or fanfare within the community.

@Blocs_User do you have a personal preference?

If a person does enough development, then Polypane is well worth it, given its rich features.

I would still like to see the following though for Blocs macOS version.

Maybe it’s coming?? Since Solis has been abandoned basically. I did wonder about that. I find it really useful in Pinegrow having multiple breakpoints visible on the design canvas at once.

I have a 13" iPad arriving soon, maybe I will re-look at the iPad version. I haven’t tried it since the early beta on a gen 5 iPad.

EDIT: I have to add, the live YT video was excellent for show casing. It made everything much more personal and communicated well where the iPad version was at. @norm you should do more of these.

Try Polypane for free :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Good software that works is worth buying.

It seems to have Solis in my hands again! Anyway, it works pretty well, the screens match the various devices pretty closely: I tried it comparing with a MacBook, a Windows 11 laptop, a Xiaomi MiA3 and an iPhone 12 Pro.
Thanks for introducing me to it, one more useful tool.

 What versions of macOS & Blocs are you using with Solis, as its not been updated in years.
