Safari No Background Image Loading for Off-Screen Blocs

Hi All, I’ve searched around but haven’t found anything which addresses this issue (I might not be using the right parameters though, so please feel free to link anything that might help).

I’ve built my webpage, and tested it thoroughly using several browsers as well as the built in previewer. I have parallax on my background images, which works great in every browser except for Safari (but that’s a known issue, and is fine with my design). I also have snap scroll set up, which snaps each bloc into place as the user progresses through the site.

The problem I’m having is that I have a page with several blocs on it, but the background images for the blocs don’t seem to load until they are on screen. This means that there are horrible white bars at the top and bottom of my page, as there is no discernible background image loaded. Once I scroll to that bloc, the background loads fine, but the next bloc has the same white bars, etc.

I’ve tried everything I can think of. I’ve removed parallax - still present. I’ve removed snap scroll - still present. I’ve removed the backgrounds themselves - still present. I’ve deleted and re-built the blocs on the page - still present. Edit: Toggling Lazy Loading - still present.

I can’t figure out why this is causing me so much grief, and I can’t understand why it’s only present in safari.

Have you tried exporting with Lazy Loading turned off.

Lazy Load has been known to cause issues, and browsers like Chrome do this natively these days.

Sorry, yes, I have tried both Lazy Loading On and Off - Editing post to reflect this.

Can you provide a link?

I don’t have a live link to the site, as I don’t want to publish with this issue still present. I’ve been exporting and testing on my local machine. The issue is present using a local server, as well as using the preview in browser functionality in the blocs app
