Save vs Save As - Any difference?

I’ve using the keyboard shortcut for ‘Save’ when working in Blocs. Does the 'Save As…" option optimise the file in any way?

The save As option simply creates a new copy of the project under a different name.

Thanks @hendon52, I believe some apps do optimise the file as it rewrites the entire file as opposed to a simple append which at times makes files bigger. That is why I was asking.

Thanks for that reference @Jerry, so does that mean that a backup file created with ‘Save As…’ will be exactly the same size as the original file?
