Solis alternative?!

Hi everybody!

Does anyone use a solis alternative that is good like Blocsapp?
Unfortunately, Solis has not been updated for a long time. I tried the trial version but it didn’t convince me.

If anyone knows something similar, please describe it.

Regards…

I use real devices with the local network preview built into blocs.

Unfortunately, not all real tools are available, so I thought of an alternative solution.
I know that real tools would be the real solution.

I use Safari’s Responsive Design Mode a lot.

And there’s Blisk. (I don’t know the tool, I just know of it).

I searched and found this one myself, installed it, and it seems quite good.

What’s about that? https://sizzy.co

I don’t really want to spend a big amount on a browser, let alone a subscription deal. My hope is that previews in Blocs 5 will be so good we won’t need any other app.

I got it from Setapp. But I just read that it is no longer distributed via Setapp.

You may also want to look at Responsively. It’s an open-source tool you can run from multiple OSs. I would prefer a more integrated solution such as Solis, but because I haven’t seen much in the way of updates, I’ll continue to use other tools. Not sure why Solis is not being updated, perhaps Norm is first going to release Blocs for iPad or Blocs 5 before dedicating time and resources to Solis. Regardless, I find that this tool is robust and is being actively developed. I use this tool along with the browser’s native dev tools. Hopefully we’ll see some love being given to Solis in the near future.

Hope this helps.

Can recommend this, too

I’ve been using the Blisk program for a few days, and so far I like it, I’m satisfied with it.

Agreed. And to that point I wish Blocs might add at least one more break point view to develop with as well as landscape views for each existing break point Blocs currently support. Hell, why not allow users to customize their break points in Blocs the way you can in Firefox’s Responsive Design Mode? I love Blocs, it’s by far the best Mac based web development app I’ve used. But, designing for mobile continues to be more frustrating that I would like.

Blocs uses the Bootstrap framework, which has defined breakpoints

Of course you can easily add more control by using media queries. Which I occasionally do for specific things.

I suspect @blocman94 means setting our own custom device views as you can in Solis.

I would like an option to work in edit mode on one display with preview shown in realtime on a second display and the ability to have several devices side by side in that preview. That would greatly speed up development.
