Standard Vs Plus

Hello. I’m about to transition from RapidWeaver after nearly 20 years using their software after the most recent issues. I was heavily invested in the stacks environment and even had a Wordpress installation running in tandem with my main site using the now very dated WP-Blog plugin.

There’s so much new stuff to learn with Blocs, and moving some of the articles (not all) from the old WP installation is part of my eventual long term goal.

Here’s my question - is the Plus version what I want if I’m looking to bring over that Wordpress content into my site redesign in Blocs? Or can I just go standard, pickup up Volte, and just manually migrate the content from the old blog I want?

Is the upgrade worth it for someone who mostly does Pamphlet sites with the occasional basic blogging needs? Are there other benefits I’m missing?

Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated! Very happy to be joining a new community!

Hey @Colson,

Welcome to the Blocs community, you will find other ex RapidWeaver users here who I’m sure will be happy to help you with your transition.

As for Blocs Plus, if you intend to stick with WordPress then you will probably find Plus useful as one of the main features is the ability to create Wordpress Themes. However, if you wanted to move away from WordPress, we have Volt CMS which is solid and much loved in the Blocs community. We also have Charta CMS, which is intentionally more lightweight but super useful and may also be checking out.

It’s also worth noting that Blocs Plus has a few more features you may find useful such as Custom Interactions (these let you build advanced logic for your website).

Also remember you can upgrade to Plus at a later date if you wanted.

Thanks Norm. I ended up going full into Plus. I like having the ability to be more flexible, and while I had found Volte, I was unaware of Charta, so I’ll definitely check that out.

Thanks so much.
