Whist I am aware of the Image Overlay bric can anyone tell me if it is possible to overlay an image with an svg as the Image Overlay bric only allows text.
You’ve answered your own question here. 
You can create your own “Image Overlay”. If you search the forum you will find a few ways of doing it.

@Jerry Thanks for your reply. I have searched but cannot find any way of doing this. I’m used to Rapidweaver which has a few simple ways of doing this.
