Hello Blocs Brics fans,
DataLoom Pro V1.1.0 is out! ![]()
What’s New in V1.1.0
This release started as a bug fix and turned into something bigger
.
The sidebar now gets out of your way
Previously every field for every content type was on screen at once, roughly sixty controls, whether you needed them or not. Now the sidebar shows only what applies to the type you picked. Choosing Product hides the article, blog, news and event fields completely. Choosing FAQPage hides everything except the pairs you are actually using.
In practice that is twelve to twenty four controls instead of sixty. Nothing is discarded when a section hides, so switching type back brings your values with it.
You can also set how many FAQ pairs, breadcrumb levels and custom property rows you want, so you are not scrolling past empty fields.
Validate Schema
A new button checks the fields Google requires for the type you selected and tells you what is missing
. An Article needs a headline, an image, a publication date and an author. A Product needs an image and either a price or a rating. Miss one and Google quietly ignores the whole thing, which is a frustrating way to find out months later.
The canvas placeholder also reports what it is producing, “DataLoom Pro - Product”, or a summary like “3 FAQs - 2 crumbs”, and turns red and reads “incomplete” while something required is missing. You can spot it without opening the sidebar.
Test in Google
A second button opens the Google Rich Results Test for your page URL. The page needs to be published first, since Google reads the live page rather than your Blocs preview.
Fixing, not just flagging
This is worth spelling out, because it is the part that saves the most time and it is the easiest thing to overlook when you are comparing tools.
Being told your data is wrong is only half a job. You still have to work out the correct form and type it again, and you are the person who got it wrong the first time. So where there is exactly one correct answer, DataLoom Pro produces it and says nothing:
- URLs. Type
example.comand you gethttps://example.com. Google will not accept a bare address, and adding a scheme is not a decision anyone needs to make. - Dates. Type
25/12/2024or25-12-2024and both become2024-12-25in the output. ISO dates are always recognised and pass straight through. - The date ambiguity nobody can validate away.
03/04/2026is the third of April in one convention and the fourth of March in the other, and no checker can tell which you meant. The new Date Format setting asks you once, then reads every date you type the way you intended. - Image addresses. Select an image and the full URL is built from your site root, taken from your Page URL. A page at
/blog/postnow correctly produceshttps://site.com/img/photo.jpg. Relative image paths are one of the most common reasons markup fails, and this removes the possibility rather than reporting it. - Reading time. Type
7and the output carriesPT7M, a valid ISO 8601 duration. Nobody should have to know that format exists. - Values you cannot get wrong. Currency, availability, condition, event status and attendance mode are dropdowns carrying Google’s exact accepted values. There is no free text to mistype, so there is nothing to validate.
Validate Schema is then reserved for what genuinely needs you. An Article with no author. A Product with no image and no price. Those cannot be inferred, so it asks, and tells you which field and why Google wants it.
Use Page SEO Data
Tick one box and Page Name and Description fill themselves from your Blocs Page Settings on export, instead of you typing the same text twice and keeping two copies in sync. You already wrote that text once inside Blocs. A Bric that lives inside Blocs should read it rather than ask for it again.
Fixes worth calling out
- Values in Base Information no longer vanish when you click away and come back. Page Name, Description, Page URL and Page IMG now reload correctly every time. If you hit this, that is what it was, and it is properly fixed.
- More than one DataLoom Pro can now sit on a single page, which matters if a page needs both an Article and an FAQ. Earlier versions used a fixed element identifier and the two interfered.
- Choosing NZD no longer outputs MXN..
- Quotes and backslashes in a URL or date no longer stop the sidebar responding.
- Word count and reading time ignore anything that is not a number instead of producing invalid code.
- Events finally have an Organizer field. The field was in the output all along with no way to set it.
Empty fields are stripped from the exported page too, so your published markup contains only the data you actually filled in.
Structured data is one of those things everyone knows they should add, and almost nobody enjoys adding. You end up hand writing JSON-LD, pasting it into a code widget, and hoping you closed every bracket. DataLoom and DataLoom Pro exist so you never have to do that again.
Start free, and only pay when you need to
DataLoom is free. It describes your organisation: name, logo, contact details, address, social profiles. Add it once to the Global Header and every page of the site tells search engines who you are. For a lot of sites that is the whole job, and it costs nothing.
DataLoom Pro is $19, one payment. It describes a single page. An article with its author and dates, a product with its price and stock, an event with its venue, an FAQ with its answers, and the breadcrumb trail that leads there. One Bric per page, in the Dynamic Content Area.
The split matters more than it sounds. Your organisation details live in one place, entered once. Change your phone number and you change it once, not on fifty pages that have quietly drifted out of sync.
If you run both, turn on Link to Organization in Pro. Publisher information is pulled from DataLoom and the page schema points back at the organisation DataLoom already publishes, so the two stop being separate claims and become one connected description of your site.
What DataLoom Pro covers
Pick a content type from a dropdown and fill in the fields that appear:
- WebPage for standard pages
- Article, BlogPosting and NewsArticle for written content, with author, publisher, word count, reading time and news specific fields
- Product with brand, SKU, price, currency, availability, condition and ratings
- Event with dates, venue, organiser, status and attendance mode
- FAQPage with question and answer pairs
Every page can also carry a breadcrumb trail, generated automatically as soon as you fill the levels in.
Then there is Custom Properties, which is the part people underrate. Presets cover the types most sites need. For anything else, you go to schema.org, find the property you want, and type the property name and its value. It attaches to the type you already picked, or to a Custom Type of your own. Schema.org has more than 800 types and keeps adding to them, so no preset list, however long, can cover the one you happen to need. This is the escape hatch that means you are never stuck waiting for us to add something.
The JSON-LD is written into the page for you. No code widget, no brackets to count.
