Video background does not work in safari

Hi guys,

my video background does not work from my built homepage https://goo.gl/m5RQTL in safari.
In safari it works only if I change settings for this website, the automatic playback on all media.
In chrome or firefox it works great.

At the beginning it also worked with safari. I don’t know what is the reason. Does somebody has any idea? Thank u.

I had a similar problem sometime back with a video in Safari and after endless searching discovered it was down to having Gzip compression enabled on the server, which conflicted with the way Safari grabs the first byte. It was doubly complicated because I was using CloudFlare, but eventually my web host disabled Gzip at a server level when Safari was identified and I’ve never had another problem. I can’t be sure if that is your problem, but worth trying.

if you are running the latest version of Safari -it now stops “autoplay videos” by default As it says on the Safari product page “Safari now prevents unexpected and unwanted videos with audio from automatically playing while you browse.” https://www.apple.com/safari/

Make sure your video file has no audio data. Videos with audio are blocked from auto play in the latest version of Safari.

thanks @Norm. i believe it works now?:relaxed:
