yeah some file counter.pl is missing. Just to confirm, this is not a Blocs file.
I don’t understand what this means. Is it okay to leave it as it is?
counter.pl displays visitors counter
did u install it before?
I have no idea what ‘counter.pl’ is, and I certainly don’t remember installing it. What does it do? I did install an app called ‘Open Core Legacy Patcher’ on a different partition before, but could that be related? However, ‘Blocs’ wasn’t installed on that partition. That partition has already been deleted.
OCLP would not add that. Neither would Blocs, so either you added something at some point or your hosting provider has?
In your screenshot you are running it through localhost so those scripts wont work unless you have a local server setup, thus the error.
The same script seems to exist elsewhere …

Do you have a live link to your site.
^ Edit: Never mind I found it and here it is in the site source:
You can see the counter here:
That defiantly looks to be added within Blocs or post export.
Thats from the home page, I didn’t check all pages.
Thank you, I understand. This ‘counter’ refers to the ‘access CGI counter’ provided by the rental server in use. I don’t think it is malicious, but should I delete it? Is it okay to just ignore it?
It’s really up to you if you need that feature and feel safe doing so.
The counter certainly gives the site a retro feel, I guess you can always go next level with a spinning globe gif - geocities circa 1990’s
I’ve been waiting for a short lived trend to happen
Or a return of a BBS styles sites with ASCII Art.
I have been recording the number of accesses from this counter every day since 2003. It has become a daily routine. However, recently, I’ve been feeling like 'maybe I don’t need it anymore.
