Even though we are based in Japan, my employer uses SuperiorHost for the hosting of its websites, because it’s cheaper than using a Japan-based web host provider (at least, it was in the past). I received an email from SuperiorHost only a few days ago which says the following:
We have maintained the same price for domains for several years. Due to rising costs for domains via registrars, we are finally being forced to raise our renewal prices. We still believe that we maintain some of the best prices in the industry for domain names (GoDaddy charges more than $20.00 USD annually for those TLDs).
They sent me a bill after that for US$15.95. We have a typical dot com domain. Nothing special.
I’ve always done domain renewals through SuperiorHost, and it’s always been hassle free, with pricing I didn’t consider too extremely high.
